For years now the gun industry has produced smaller, lighter .45 caliber semiautomatic pistols so that many modern guns can’t reliably fire some of the high-power cartridges available to shooters today.

Lower receivers and barrels can be as light as the manufacturer can make them.

Your slide, on the other hand, must have enough mass to resist the force of acceleration applied to it by the cartridges you intend to use.

Effective compensation increased recoil spring rate, and very high magazine spring tensions bring some guns back into balance. For others, these measures are just not enough.

But how do you fix something as fundamental as slide weight without going back to the factory and changing it there?

Our solution is the .460 Rowland® Weighted Rear-Sight Replacement, affectionately known as The Rowlanator.

First developed for the very small, but elementally tough, .45 Caliber Springfield XDm 3.8″ Compact, we immediately applied it to the very popular Glock-30.

Both guns benefit greatly by its addition and we recommend its use on several other .45 ACP semi-auto pistols.

By application of just enough weight precisely where needed, your modern, lightweight .45 Auto will be able to handle a much wider range of cartridges, from standard target loads all the way up to high-level magnums.

And they all will shoot more gently, with less muzzle flip, fewer feeding and extraction problems, and without the extra wear, some experts caution against when running large numbers of high power cartridges.

But the benefits don’t end there. The tough-looking Rowlanator incorporates a very effective grooved sighting system helping the shooter find and align his or her front sight much more quickly.
